$400 Chop/bob

Wish I still had this bike, thought I'd share it with you guys. I plan on building another and doing a thread on it, right now I just own an Ironhead.

No paint booth? It's ok, that's why God made trees. Sorry ozone.

Rattlecan metallic caramel, lovely color! I want to eat it.

Bought it as a rolling frame/motor with a blown head gasket, cheap with a title !

When I lived in a small upstairs apartment, I painted it on my balcony, it didn't turn out very good.. . Tail light mocked on with rubber bands.

I liked it, a lot. Wasn't fast, but it went fast enough (70), seat I shaped myself and then wrapped it with an old straw hat I had laying around, thought it complimented the colors very well.

Boat trailer fender cut up a bit to fit the chain

That's all I could find at the moment of that bike, here's my first actual paint job a shop let me tackle, first time with a gun and airbrush, I painted a mural on their shop & they taught me how to paint bikes proper.

Enjoy!

The bike was 400, maybe put 20 into paint and body work, tank was pretty banged up, ended up selling for 1000, which I thought was low anyways, but it was an 85 Honda 250. ..

400

Tank and colors on that rebel turned out pretty slick!

400 is a good number on the 250s it seems. Picked mine up last year for that price 91 nighthawk.

Put 5k mi on it since, dont know if Ill ever sell it, even after bumping to my WIP 750

Very similar to what I want to do to my Shadow, keep the shocks, but make it a bobber, I will use this, and possibly your new build as reference.

I miss that little bike, I could start it up at 1am with no regrets from neighbors bitching... Now that I have a Harley, it's hard to sneak out for late night runs. Thanks though! I wouldn't consider that bike a bobber, maybe a short chop or something? It was cheap to build and paint, most parts were just crap I had in the garage, a fun machine for sure.

Thanks! My first feeble attempt at hand cutting a stencil, it looked too bare with nothing there.
