well, if anything SHOULD be wrong, like a lifter issue, how bad would it be to fix?

lifter failure is obnoxiously loud. you'd know it if you heard it. you wouldn't be wondering IF something was wrong. it's pretty apparent when it happens. pretty easy fix though. pull the rocker covers and heads, pushrods and pushrod tubes, swap lifters and reverse. get yourself a manual (for torque specs and a little support). don't be tempted to install screamin' eagle lifters instead of stock. they suck balls and WILL fail.

sounds normal... and if you're running a windshield on it (God forbid) , it'll make the noise twice as loud since all the engine noise gets filtered right up in your face.

ok ok ok! jeeeeez. it's just, i don't see why one cylinder is noisier than the other. shit makes no sense. i mean, i know engine's are loud and shit, and that's fine, but this is a loud metallic ticking, coming straight from the top of the front cylinder. and the fact that it wasn't there last week but is there now just fucks me up. i'm broke as fuck as it is, last thing i want to do is more damage than i need to. ya dig?

but if you guys say ride it, then fuck it. i'm gonna ride it. I trust you folks more than my dumb ass self any day of the week.

next time you're heading through the hoosier state, you'll need to ride with me. my shit is so noisy that it'll drown yours out. that's one of the reason's i always wear a helmet. if i don't, i spend my time worrying about all kinds of noises. everybody i have ridden with always says, "why is you bike so noisy?"
