A bitch to fix the button, or the starter? The button is easy. I wired this bike with an on/off switch, and the starter button. The headlight had a separate switch as well. It's how I hook most of my scooters up. You don't need a kickstarter, the thing only weighs a couple hundred pounds. Push starting it is cake.

The timing chain tensioner is a common problem with these bikes. If you haven't heard about it yet, you might want to look it up. There are some easy fixes that'll save you from ripping up your motor.

They go as early as 16k cause the chain wears fast and the tensioner only has so much expansion before it literally disassembles itself inside your case. I have a modified one to prevent that but at 45k miles the chain is nearly out of stretch.

Theres also an issue with an oil leak caused by a plug in the head. When you can get the head cover off the engine, make sure you have a newer model of the plug (old one looks like a cup, new one like a puck) and seal that bitch up with gasket material (why they don't do this from the factory is beyond anyone)

Hit me up if you ever want to do a bare-bones wiring loom. I'm not too smart on where I place my wires (had 3 small short-induced fires to date), but I have the CDI box figured and removed the decompression system, signals, and safety circuit and with no issues for 2 years.

Here's mine... top end is in the shop to check for wear and deglazing

I'm in the garage all weekend converting my brother's savage to a mono-shock. Already shaved the swingarm shock mounts and filled the peg mount holes. We're thinking about doing a leaf spring seat mount.

As far as your bars, take them off and spin your risers so they sweep forward. Then re install your bars. See how that feels. It'll be a 6" further stretch or so for you and it looks kinda cool.

I assume you're asking about the risers. Ill post pics of the mono shock after the weekend.

These were on my Ironhead. Here's the only pics I could find.

Those bars/risers look so much better flipped around. Got my brother's bike all wrapped up today except he's getting the shocked charged to stiffen it up. I'll post up pics when I'm not so tired.

One of the things he pulled off was a forward control kit he bought for it. It pushes your pegs and controls 4 inches forward. Didn't flow with the changes to his bike. I've got the kit for sale if you're interested.

$70 shipped. It's the two aluminum plates, the front bolt and tube, the brake extension. Only thing you would need is a longer piece of all thread for the shifter linkage. If you go back to the pic of my brother's savage with my Ironhead, you can see the forwards installed.

And those voodoo frames are bitchin. But putting a bike into another frame here in CA is a nightmare. Better off cutting it at the neck and starting from there.

Voodoo Vintage does that, you send them your head tube, they build it from there.
