My '67 BSA Lightning chopper..

This past weekend I set it up with an old springer cut down to stock length, 21" front wheel, some old z bars and a side mount bates headlight...

I wanted to run a springer to increase the wheel base a bit on the front end because the back end of this bike is so long. I think the axle offset with the rockers on the springer really evens this bike out a bit. Still growing on me, sometimes I hate the new look and sometimes I love it. It is different at least. Here is what it looked like prior, with a BSA A10 front end and 18" wheel

I can easily switch this around, just had to swap bearings etc.

Still have more work to do on this thing, it isn't done yet... new paint. maybe ?

tyler- i think if you're gonna run that springer you need to do something different with the rear fender, it looks strange now

*personally i like the before better.

Yeah I go back and forth. I just wanted to switch it up a bit for something fresh. Maybe I will end up running the 18" A10 wheel that was on there on the front of the springer for a while. The hardtail section on this bike isn't the norm, with the bend in the top rails of the hardtail (to keep my seat height higher for comfort because of my height), and that is why I ended up doing the fender that way. I like it, again something different I figured there are lots of bikes that have similar styling may as well try something new

What I really need to do is finish my '61 Triumph chopper!

i think if the front wheel was black as well it wouldn't look so unbalanced. i still prefer the before though.

Even though I'm a sucker for a springer front end, I think I liked it better before...

i prefer the old set-up..but that's just me.
i'm a sucker for the chunky fat tires on both front and back.
this bike is the inspiration for my 69 Lighting...it's so slick!

Nice bike!

I'd personally run with the new handles, old forks and the new 21 inch front.

What tyres are they on the rear though, I dig their chunky goodness.

I like it

The rear section has a bit of a Road Warrier look to it.

I'm diggin the bend in the top tubes. Its a different and interesting look. I like the big rubber front and back though of the original setup.
