I started building this bike for the 2010 dirtbag challenge in SF. A buddy of mine had this zx6r sitting in his side yard...he was a little scared of it and offerred it to me for free!! . I had a machinest friend make a new neck then I used conduit to figure out how I wanted the frame...then 1 1/8" DOM tubing was bent in a elcheapo harbor freight pipe bender. I made the axle plates from some fat scrap plate. The real gas tank is the big black box under the seat...it holds about 4 1/2 gallons. The harley tank was widened and stretched to fit over the modified stock airbox (I still had to cut the top od the airbox off and fiberglass the hole)
I made the bars and used the clip-on brackets to hold them in place..built the running boards from scrap diamondplate. All in I am right around $1000...and I just got in from my first ride on it....damn fast and fun...gotta get used to the wide frame and running boards (never had a bike with boards before) Anyway..here's a little video of it if I do it right! I am still going to pull the tins for real paint and to clean up the wiring.....someday!haha
