you really think they were gonna catch dude in the street and just beat him down? really? to accomplish what? a shit ton of negative attention with absolutely no upside?

instead they filed a suit, got free publicity without negative blowback and (I'm sure) got a healthy check handed to them. people were reminded that they aren't to be messed with, joe-blow bike owner stood up in their defense. lots of tough talk around the shop water cooler and no harm done.
seems like a much better way to handle business in modern times.
