650 triumph pipes

Hey all

Has anyone ever used 650 pipes on a 500 motor with shims?

I was wondering if the bends are similar and they will follow the frame.

that's done alot, but like you said the pipes don't follow the frame too well.

I tried this not too long ago. Got the 650 "stock" style pipes from Lowbrow, got some shims, and they worked ok, but had some leaking at the head, and they just didn't follow the frame right. My avatar pic is with those pipes.... Better to get the right pipes for a 500, which is what I wound up doing.

maybe, but 500 pipes are more expensive the 650 pipes, you can get real cheap shit 650 pipes for less than a $100.
But, when you buy parts, there is the correct good quality parts, and then there is all the shit that almost works.
