Jockey Journal, like the HAMB, is a niche site. In the terms of general auto/bike enthusiasts, they cater to infinitely small categories of cars and bikes. Your '03 sporty does not fit into that niche. Take it easy, it's just the innernet. Everybody thinks their taste is cooler than everybody else.

I don't think he was going to go choke a baby or kick a puppy or anything. He was just giving his opinion. That's been lost on this site here lately. If you don't like someone's opinion or gripe, then don't fuckin post on the thread. People are posting on threads to talk shit like this is facebook. This is all interent lameness no matter what.

I agree with the point stated earlier that JJ mods and members come over here usually just to defend the JJ. I'm pretty sure that there are threads/comments on the JJ about Chop Cult and I haven't seen Billdozer, McGoo, MikeD or Allen post comments defending.
Case in point, Johnny Rainbow joined here a month ago and has only posted in this thread and various Classified ads. That kind of move always gets my attention.

As for the above poster sayin that i should expect to be shit on on the JJ because i ride an 03 sporty among other bikes.......well that right there is the fuckin rub.......Nobody is cooler or better because of what they ride, and it sure as hell doesnt give them the right to shit on other people with no repercussions.

Viva Chop Cult!!!
Actually, I have a build thread going for my ironhead on here. Thanks for noticing, lol. And of course I'm on the classifieds, I'm building a bike, haha! There aren't any threads on jj about cc and if there were, they'd get deleted quicker than my springer ID thread on jj, lol. I'm not defending them, I'm saying it's different than here. There's stuff there that you can't get here. There's stuff here that you can't get there. Honestly, I didn't find out about cc until a couple of months ago. I like the place.
But are you insinuating I only come here to defend the jockey journal? That's funny. I mainly go there to learn about knuckleheads, lol. But when I post, it's quality. I put effort into it. The HAMB is my main focus as I'm a second generation hot rodder and although I love bikes and have been riding off and on for 25 years, cars have always been my main focus. I'm doing a kick ass '55 chevy truck powered by '59 caddilac 390 right now. You should check my threads there under terd ferguson. Entertaining to say the least and certainly worth twice what you pay for it. So while I may not have many posts here, give me a break, I've only been here a little while. What I'm trying to say is if you're concerned about me being a drain on cc, not to worry. I'll give back much more than I take. I promise.

I stand corrected. But I defend my point (that I didn't state very well) that any time the JJ is brought up over here, someone chimes in to defend. It usually doesn't go over very well because a lot of people on Chop Cult are not welcome on the JJ (Jap bike owners, internet comedians, gun enthusiasts, etc.)
I haven't seen your Ironhead build thread but will be sure to check it out.

No hard feelings and no offense meant. The HAMB and the Jockey Journal are owned by the same dude, Ryan. That said, I do not post jibber jabber on the jj because it's not appreciated or tolerated. Now on the hamb, my pickup build threads devolve into mostly old pro wrestling, funny pictures, and gayness. I'm surprised I get away with as much as I do there. Must be because my pickup is so awesome, lol. But don't be fooled by the jibber jabber, there is also documentation of a shit ton of work, basically a frame off job and total drivetrain swap that was not a bolt in affair. Lots of fab stuff and all done in house (with my club) with nothing farmed out except chrome work.
My car club has a monthly breakfast. Here's a flier I made. This fits in great with chop cult, haha! A little less so on the hamb, but still strangely tolerated. Now can you imagine how fast this would get deleted on jj?
Like I said, I'm not defending jj, just pointing out the differences. If you like old vintage bikes, there is no better source of information than jj. My pickup is strictly period correct, nothing much newer than 1960 except a battery and fluids. My ironhead, not so much. While my pickup (which by the way, is a tribute to one my dad built way back in '59) is strictly period correct to the core, the bike I'm doing is more an homage to a '70s style. It will have new and repop parts here and there, like the Cleveland/Lowbrow alien tank, Wargasser spool, and La Pera seat. More of a "spirit of the '70s bike" than a clone.
I still need the jockey journal for the technical aspects of a vintage harley engine along with some style inspiration here and there. So I put up with the sometimes harsh moderation there. But I really love this place because of the lack of strict adherence to what is known as "traditional" or "period correctness". It's just cool bikes. All kinds. I'm not an elitist. I don't think I'm better than the guy on the xs or cb because I have an ironhead. I know that goes around, but not with me. I draw just as much inspiration from the jap builds here as the old style bikes on JJ. Maybe more because there's many more examples here.
