Weird FXR trans issue?
So, sadly, my FXR has sat for maybe a month while I've been giving the shovel more attention. It starts up tonight no prob, I let it warm up a bit and take off slow out of the warehouse. Make it about ten feet and come to a skidding halt. Total mechanical lock up of rear wheel. Won't move an inch whether in neutral, clutch in, etc. No obstructions in belt, no loose pulley or disc bolts, axle tight and straight. I confirmed the front wheel spins, it's definitely the back. Rear brake is not locked up. We rock it backwards hard and it kind of breaks loose and now rolls. So, me and McGoo roll it forward enough to check both pulleys, belt, etc. to see if maybe something dropped down in there and locked it up. No marks anywhere, nothing fell out. Check trans fluid, full and clean. So, I take off slow, make it about 30 feet, same thing. Go through the same rocking it back procedure till it breaks loose. Rode it around, (prepared for a skid) for a couple minutes, shift through all the gears, seems fine, no primary noise, clutch feels normal.
Parked it and took the van home. WTF?
I'm thinking a chipped tooth in trans got between a couple gears and locked it up, rocking it backwards dislodged it.
Any other logical ideas before I start tearing into this? No recent work to blame it on, last ride was a month or so ago, no issues then.
