need opinion on Vstar 650 bars

Hey guys.
2003 vstar 650 custom

I want to order these bars, should I get dimpled or non dimpled? Also, do you guys have any experience with Biltwell bars? I,ve had a couple bikes before, bust mostly older hondas and cafes.

Thanks !

also, will it matter if they are knurled or not? I would assume knurled would be best..but they dont offer that option. unless of course i opt for cheap "flea bay" bars

Weird it didn't post, I like my Builtwell Friscos a lot, I got undimpled ones and ran the wires internally and have no complaints,

Are dimpled bars generally set up for harleys? Or should i buy non dimpled and drill a hole for my controls?

Dimpled bars are for newer harley controls. Don't order them for your 650 unless you plan on using harley controls which will require you to rewire your switches a bit. There is probably a little nipple on your stock control housings that is used to center them on the stock bars that will need to be filled or ground down before you install the stock housings on aftermarket bars. That's what I had to do with my 1100 controls before I got rid of them all together.

Check out this website.
