19 mag in the rear? so many questions.

I have a 19inch dual flange narrow-glide mag wheel from a 35mm front end that I'm not using. Can I run this in the rear? Granted ill need to make spacers, but is there any other reason why I don't want to do this?
Has anyone else here ever done that or run a tire that narrow in the back?
does if affect the handling like crazy?
Can I fit a wider tire on a narrow rim like that? I think its set up for 100/90-19.
How will it affect the gearing?
thanks smart guys.

Just to help in your search, Phil Little Racing makes a kit to run a 19" mag as a rear. It's $300.

Member: BobHopper had one for sale a few months back if I remember correctly.

I have a 110 on my 19" mag for the front as well. I think the rim is 2.25" width, and I think a 120 would be pushin' it.

As far as gearing, that really depends on total tire height, just divide new tire height by old tire height, and that gives you your change in gearing.

I've asked and it's been suggested that you could use narrowglide to wideglide conversion kits (make sure you measure the spacing). You'd just have to redrill and tap the drive side for the bigger sprocket bolts.

I'll be doing this on my next build.

Fuckin' right on! That's awesome news. I'll be mounting it on a 1985 4speed evo BT so I imagine that it won't be bolt up for me but I'm glad to hear people do this often enough. A 110 in the rear sounds wide enough for a decent ride too. I will check the conversion kits out and report back.

I am using a 19" mag in the back with a 110 tire on it. Just drilled and tapped it for 7/16-14tpi sprocket bolts and got a spacer to line up the chain drive. When it gets finished ill let you know how the 110 handles, but i expect it to be just fine.
