The viking is the shit man! Awesome job on that, really cool to see the full custom metal backing. I usually just cut mine to match the light, but that thing will be weather-proof for hundred of years!

Killer work, it was great seeing the video of you guys fuckin around!

Cast aluminum skull brake light. First carve skulls out of foam and attach runners for aluminum to flow through. Next burry foam skulls in sand. Then melt aluminum / remove top layer of crap (dros) from multin aluminum and pour into foam burning foam out & replacing it with aluminum. Then remove skull, clean, polish, install led's,& pour resin in eyes.
(BE CARFULL WITH MOLTIN ALUMINUM)

Oh snap! Nice work, and good disclaimer, that will cover you if someone happens to pour molten aluminum on their junk.

Cool post man, you should enter it as a DIY!

Do you think when you pour the resin in you could sink one of those 24 bulb LED 1157's into it. Then it would harden around it.
Then your mounting plate you could drill pilot holes in the resin and just use small screws like the ones that hold plastic lenses onto the blinkers that all get thrown in the trash. a little silicone between the plate and lense would make sure it did not fall apart.

If you sunk a 360 degree led bulbin there it would light up all ways so you would be seen from the side, too.

This is an awesome idea!

Could you point me to a more detailed explanation of this process? I'd LOVE to play with this idea!!

I tried it out, the color is great, but my model wasnt clean enough so the sides aren't pretty, and the resin seems to stay sticky even though its been a few days. Not really sticky, but enough.

I don't know If I'm gonna try it again or maybe do something else.

i wonder if your mixture was wrong, or maybe not mixed well? i know I have epoxied parts, and days later it was still sticky. Oh, and It did that to me one time when I tried to let it cure when it was cold out. I think the epoxy needs a little heat to cure.
Cool mold, where did you get that?

well it is -35 celcius here and it was beside a window that might have something to do with it, I wonder if I hit it with a heat gun if that will help at all. I actually haven't touched them in a few days now, maybe theyre cured.
Thanks amigo, the mold I made, its just some mexican thing I found at a small shop and built it up like the hummingbird
