Had some free time tonight and started making an electronics box. I haven't seen one exactly like it on an xs but there's probably one out there. I never could make up my mind on what I wanted to do for one and this is what I ended up with... for now. Not sold on it yet... and it still needs end caps.... tomorrow...

Did you get your rear fender mounted up yet? Ive got the same fender without the rib for my xs650. Gonna have a friend help me figure a good way to mount it. Wondering the direction you went.

I drilled 4 holes in it. It's not mounted yet because I need to get new tanks for my torch, but I have 4 radius bungs for mounting to the fender. 2 will be welded to a strut (holes towards back ducktail) and at the other end of the strut will be a counterbore bung. I tapped my axle plates to screw in the bottom strut mount. For the bottom mount I am going to bend a curve in a piece of 1/2" rod, weld 2 of the radius bungs to it (to mount fender) and weld the curved rod to the bottom frame support. Hopefully that made sense and wasn't gibberish. I should get my tanks soon and I will post pics when it's done.

Very cool way to mount that fender. Im planning on setting mine up at the usual 12 oclock position. But i dig that a lot. Hard to tell from the pic but is it mounted all the way at the bottom too? Or just at the seat post or what?
Not to hijack. I really wanna see the op's as well when its done.

That stance is right on man!! I'd say it's pretty close to the defenition of a bobber. Nothing you don't need on it, stripped down, short wheel base with normal fork length and rake. Keep it going man, I wanna see it finished!!

Thanks man...about half way down the fender I turned another mount on my lathe...that mount ties into my electronics box. It's solid as fuck lol.

thanks man. Bad news though... I broke my leg this past weekend. Therefore I will not be able to work on the bike and I won't finish it before I move to Florida. That also means I lost the bet with my dad. It sucks, but that's life...

So, I am staying with my parents for Thanksgiving break and I've had a chance to work on my bike a little bit. I had this idea for the brake pivot but I'm afraid it will just look like a blob... I set it up with some steel and a piece of cardboard. Let me know what you think. I just want something different than the standard setup, but I want it to be clean.
