Mike, I got a bike you can practice on and perfect it. Then you know it will be exactly right before you ship it to him. Just throwin' that out there buddy. He can even see a picture and choose an angle.
You can practice on coil relocation brackets to. There is probably a market for those as well.Comment

I need a simple sissy bar like this as well. Does it just bolt between the fender & the fender strut?

That's how it appears. Guess we'll have to wait until Squidy gets it installed & posts pics

Finished Product
Thanks to the awesome help of PunkRod (Pete), I was able to get this sissy bar mounted and finished this weekend.
First we had to bend the mounts a little bit to make sure they ran flush with the fender struts. Also, I ended up bolting the mounts to the outside of the struts rather than in between the fender and strut. I'll eventually get it powder coated for a more finished looked.
Drilled the second set of holes and bolted it on.
Overall, it was a pretty easy project. Very well built exactly what I was looking for.

Squidy, what was the reasoning on mounting it to the front side of the fender strut? Were there issues with running it behind the strut? I'm considering having something similar made but I would prefer to keep it behind the strut, or atleast have the line match up a little better. Looks good though!Comment

I don't think I would have had any issues with mounting it behind the strut. It was just a real tight fit between the fender and strut so it was much easier to just bold it to the outside. For now this is more like a mock up for mounting it permanently in the future. Might have to grind down a little around the welds and once it's powder coated, I will mount it behind the strut.Comment
