The first thing you should do is swap the front legs out with a set from Copper Mike. Google Gravesend cycles and check them out. I think switching the springs to the paughco springs is a good thing too. I dont know if theyre stronger or stiffer or what but ive heard it many times. -

Other then the guys that threw away their DNA springers, has anyone ever owned one? Did you ride it? My friend rode one for a year, and never had any complaints. Can anybody tell the difference? Visually, the only difference I can see between Paughco and DNA springers are serial numbers on the Paughco. Maybe the spring rates are different? Take a caliper to them, it all measures the same...
I understand "buy American", but if someone want a springer, but has to feed some mouths... Fuck man, feed them kids and get your springer!Comment

I was riding back from the Biltwell garage sale with a friend/neighbor type dude.
He has a DNA on his sportster.
He noticed a part rattle off his springer... It was his axle nut.
When we pulled over, he assured us he had been keeping his hardware game tight and had reduntant methods to keep that shit together.
Doing 75-80 on the 15 and losing an axle nut is one step away from dying. The axle stayed put until he jammed into the shoulder.
DNA's fault or not, I've owned a couple springers. None of them tried to kill me. But they weren't DNAs either. I'm just going to play it cautious because of what I saw.Comment
