Travis, Nice looking boat you have there. nice quality fish too.

Here is a calico, Just one of many many more that I caught that day along with tons of
huge white fish, while fishing my favorite reef in Baja. Some of the big Calicos I let live, (slow to grow so let 'em go). It takes a calico bass
about 20 years to reach this size. why waste it on dinner when you can have it to catch again some day.
If I want fish tacos, The plentiful white fish are great eating & the baja coast has tons of them, & they are
much fatter than the white fish at the channel islands or california coastline.
on this trip we also caught a few nice lings, & some huge 15lb boneheads on the troll, just outside of the kelp stringers.

i fish for calicos sometimes but rarely ever eat them. the big ones ALWAYS go back
