On my hardtail project, I'm at the point where I need to make a battery tray. I hadnt seen the battery in a while and when I finally pulled it out from the old parts pile, it's bigger than I thought. Do you guys use a smaller battery that's still powerful enough to spin a wimpy 883?

Those of you running tiny batteries, what are they? After my hardtail conversion I dont have the room to run the stock battery down in front of the rear tire like I was planning. Ive seen a few KZs using honda spree batterys, is there anything smaller? I dont wanna go all out and use a NiCad like I have seen a few doing. The
I was just looking at this thread and printed 3 different pages for batterys -
I'm running a shorai lithium battery on my sporty. It's a 1200 and this little thing can crank it no problem. Not the cheapest, but the thing is like half the size, if not smaller, than stock and weighs almost nothing. I even went with one that's smaller than the recommend for my bike, and haven't had any issues crankin it.

I have been using the Ballasitic 16 cell for two years now. They fucking rock too. About 10 pounds lighter than a lead battery, no reason for a tender, can be used in total loss race systems etc.
But the two things I like about it is the size and weight difference, and the fact that it can sit for a year without use and not lose it's charge.
Also can get a Ballistic charger that will do a full charge in 15 minutes.Comment
