    Inner Cam Bearing Tool

    Hey guys, me again.
Looking into buying a cam bearing tool for the '98 Evo and wondering if anyone has any alternative to the JIMS took. That one I've used before but not a huge fan of the $275 pricetag. However if I remember correctly the installed sleeve was shouldered to give the perfect dept on install

    Any good alternatives out there?

    Thanks

George's Garage. Cam bearing puller $90. Disclaimer: I don't know about the quality of these offerings.

For the install, a bearing/ seal drift will do. Depth of install is not critical, as long as the bearing slightly below flush, for oil flow.

May not be able to get the bearing below flush by using a cam for a drift.

I'm with you. I repurpose stuff in the shop regularly and I never throw anything away except paper.

Could use a blind hole puller. (Auto Zone has them to lend out)

Must use care with using this tool cause if the bearing come apart those loose bearings could get into the flywheel case ..
The Jim's tool don't allow this to happen by design ..
Take my 45 and outrun em all ..
