The 40's & 50's trucks are getting pretty rare ...

Back when I jumped into this endeavor I was looking for a Studebaker or Hudson Big Boy truck to build ...

Think the Hudson had a Straight 8 in it reason for the hood being long as "Dixie Highway" ...
    Loved the body lines ...

Found two "Big Boys" one was in a junkyard and was rough as a corncob, the other was still being driven on the road but was way out of my budget ..
Then I ran up on the Binder, it was affordable and the rest is history ...
Take my 45 and outrun em all ..

Yes sir. I can only imagine, from the class of parts I've been seeing.

The time that I been spending on the ol girl is way up there too ...
If I had a Nickle for every hour that went into it, I'd go buy a Bentley .. !!

Here's some more time that's going to be seen real soon ...

All was fine & dandy when the stock GM 12 Bolt was under it, but when I changed out the rear-end to the 14 Bolt it threw a new problem into the soup .. It was 4 inches wider ... Which wasn't a major problem but for looking a bit funny and seeing huge Rooster tails when it rained ..

My cure for that was to find a set of factory fender extensions that IH made for running dually' back in the day ...

After being on the hunt for a few years for these bad-boys (Think I'd had better luck finding chicken's teeth) I gave up the thought and decided to add 3 inches to what I had ..

I did run up on a set that was still on a truck, called the Fellow up and asked if he would sell em .. He said that he would but the rest of the truck came with them ..

Wasn't really needing a parts truck, so I passed on it, the truck was a S-Series (56-57) next model up from the R's .. ..

That dog ain't going to hunt ... !!

Kinda glad I didn't find them cause there would be a seam running down the fenders.
By doing the slice & dice trick, "No Seam" ...

Jump in here when you get back around to your oil pump ..
I been thinking about your problem and think I'd give S&S a call to make sure your pump is for your year model motor ..

Dang, can't miss that going down the road !!

              BTY ...
              This oldie is not a R-Series ... It's a '52 INTERNATIONAL TRUCK LDF402 ...
The L-Series was the first with the Cabs being also used on the R's and the S-Series trucks ... Long run from 1950 to 57 and more so with the heavy's ..

I asked the owner of this truck for a Video of it running ...
Said he would send me one pretty soon since he's on the down-hill slide of the restore ... Cool Beans !!

Thank you all for your advice, I have fixed my problem. I found that the tappet screen was installed upside down. I am now running 55 psi cold start up. Thank you JBInNC and confab, for the directions.
