it's either a 71 or 72 Honda .. that's all i know. this forum has inspired me to do my first build

can anyone either identify it or give me pics of similar ones post build? i imagine the frame is probably ok and the motor will need rebuilt .. everything else needs to be scrapped anyways

The size should be part of the EIN. I know it is on mine.

Yup, check the vin plate on the neck or the numbers on the engine and it should tell you what you have.

what am i looking for? a 350/450/750 consecutive or is there some other sort of identifier? and what size is no good for a build? i assume it would be nice if it were a 750??

anything CAN be built into something cool, this one would depend on how much you like this particular bike. You will spend more rebuilding a bike in that condition than you will buying the same model in running condition just about 99% of the time.

ive gotten in bikes that were worse than that,,,changed oil, clean carbs,new plugs an the fukin things fire right up..

it's possible, not that probable considering it appears that bike has been laying on it's side in the mud for a couple year, also looking at the exhaust it appears not only was it on it's side but was run over or had shit stacked on it heavy enough to completely flatten the exhaust

I have a '63 honda I bought from a guy for 50 bucks just because I liked the tank. It had been laying in a garbage heap at the house he bought from his grandpa he said for at least 18 years, got it home clean off the plug poured some gas in the carb and it fired right up on the third kick. Now next year she's running Bonneville. Here it is after I hosed it off.


I'd say if the price is right go for it.

yeah i appreciate all the feedback .. it is too small to invest any real time & money into

i'm going to start looking for a CB750 or an XS650 ..

so what is the best Jap bike for a build? i love the way the VS650s look
