I started on this project a few years ago and am finally getting close. I wanted the stance and seat height of a rigid but wanted to keep the shocks for my aging back. I cut it to pieces and changed the shock location, stretched the swingarm and the backbone. I got rid of the stock downtubes made the oil tank and battery tray under the swingarm & a bunch of other crap.
Im at the stage of wire, fire and ride and it will be done. Well they are never really done and I never did a build thread for it so heres a photo dump of where my '03 Sportster is at...

I scratch made the mounts from flat iron stock. The fins are just alumi-lead and shaped. Im no aluminum welder & knew Id warp and ruin it If I tried welding them. I pounded the velosity stack out of a piece of scrap exhaust pipe and painted it to look like anodized aluminum. Made the Tbars from some scrap 1" DOM, cut down the stock eyebrow, made the seat pan and had Jarod at HardLuck cover it. I bought a front fatboy wheel (because they are cheaper) and machined some spacers, drilled and tapped out the bolt holes so it would work on the rear. Whipped up a choke cable mount, I needed a frame jig, so I made that too. Im broke so Ive got to be a cheap ass and use what I find laying around...
