** PHAT *** Sporty Choppacycle'
just picked up this unfinished / barely started project. came up at the right price so i had to jump on it to park in the corner for a little while and tinker when i see parts for it
ok - so its not the cool style for this years prom queens but i care not a jot. its something ive hankered after for about 10 years
should a be a ton of fun to have alongside the vintage stuff

probably 3.5 fatbobs, not too high apes, rigid mounted seat on frame. dont know, probably a fair amount of mr potatohead till it looks how i want
bike i have in mind is an oldish mag coverbike cant remember what magazine, and it probably looks nothing like i remember anyway.
just a big chunky simple bike that i can rack miles on
and yes the yokes are excessive at 3" haha but they are what i have for now, may machine them down but not yet i wont, see where the bike leads me first

I'd dig it a lot more if the front and rears were the same. And used those bubble type skins exile used. Looking forward to see what you do with it.

I don't see why it's less legitimate to build a 90s bike than it is to build a 60s or 70s bike, other than because that's not what the cool guys are building this week. always amuses me how small minded people are with their taste in bikes, I like all sorts of stuff. lets be honest...I wasn't alive in the 60s, neither were the majority of you, the decade didn't influence me...
as for choppacycle, was very much tongue in cheek, call it a chopper and people get their pants in a twist that it's not a chopped frame, call it a bobber and their g-string starts chafing its not a bobber stock bike etc etc. cant win eh

Looks fine to me. And I agree about the small minded, period correct shit. This bike will be killer when yer' done.

I dig it. What are those front forks? Looks to be inverted forks off a modern sport bike.

Being cool enough to truly not care is whole other level type shit.
I think this thing kicks ass. I loved Russ Mitchell's bikes. Not afraid to say it either... Those early years on Discovery Channel were a huge influence on me as a builder... Not so much the style of bike I like, but the way I approach building at all, cars, bikes or otherwise. Fuck all the haters.
Frankly, I'm getting tired of all the bearded, vested, flipped bill, swazi, sheep looking, period correct mfer's anyway. Just like the hipsters... trying to stand out, by looking exactly like the guy next to them.
