I had it in my head that you were going to thread the cap vent from the top. I guess it'll work either way. And doing it your way would have a cleaner look, all you will see is a small hole.

Wow. A lot of Brat / Crazy Orange style bikes getting built this winter. Looking forward to seeing more of this one.

The tunnel still looks pretty deep on the tank - you aren't going to mount it up any higher?

I made a fork brace for her. This is just the mock up , I'm gonna pretty it up some

Damn that fork brace is sweet. I'd like to see how you did it, I'm new to chopping and anything would help.

Thanks Buster! Stay tuned . I think when I mock up the tank you will see it sits high. Will post pics soon. Still havent gotten her in the shop yet. Christmas activities ..........shes been neglected. but heres a pic ( bad but ya get the idea) of the tunnel 1.75" deep all the way front and back.

And heres one to show how skinny it is.

mzalavala thanks man. I will post some better pics of the fork brace. I'm gonna powder coat it and do a few other things to it. But basically what I did was draw up the sides on a piece of aluminum (you can use thin steel) and cut them out with a plasma. But you can use a scroll saw with the proper blade. Clean em up drill or punch holes for mounting to forks and at the top. Then I cut 2 pieces of all thread and conduit put the conduit between the side pieces ran the all thread thru, and put nuts on the ends.

                balowski, no problem bro!

Started the tear down and mock ups. Heres a basically how the tank is gonna sit.

                  Wires.......... moving ........wires

Look how skinny she is gonna be. Yes I'm gonna narrow those bars.

Gotta long way to go. but we got alot done tonight. The tank is just sitting on there. Gonna weld in the bungs early next week, narrow the bars and get the wireing done.

                  Just a quick update.

                          Put the lowering shocks on.....

Lowered the front by sliding the tubes up a 1.25" thru the trees.

drilled the holes for the bungs....

                          Welding the bungs.......

                          mounted up.....

                          narrowed the bars 3"

                          Headlight bracket mocked up.

                          Getting there.

Looking good dude! Why not lower the front forks with lowering springs though? Sliding them through the trees that far looks kinda goofy, no?

I may end up useing lowering springs. but this started as a 1200s model, it had piggy back adjustable shocks on the back that I have already given up. the adjustbe forks on the front I'm wanting to keep if possible.
