Thinking about narrowing this sportster fender? ??

LATEST MOCK UP PICS. Just throwing parts on there that I have laying around just to see what to do. Thinking of channeling the rear sporty fender an inch or so to narrow it up. narrow the light and lens while i'm at it. may use it....may not. good practice though.

I'm getting really excited about this project. It kinda sat idle for a few weeksbut having mocked it up here in my garage and put the engine in place I'm pleased with the outcome so far. Not getting much feedback from anyone. Do I stink or something? Lol.

ordered a peanut DIY tank from Tyler and the gang. Was a long wait for those to come in stock. Thinking of getting another just to squirrel away for another day while he has them.
been busy on the weekends playing in the band. not alot of time to work on the scoot but gotta make that scratch to fund this project......

I have all the take off parts for this 650. If anyone is looking for any parts let me know. Mags, frontend, anything. ignition parts. got it all still. Lets make a deal. lol!

Oh yeah...Got my ticket to born free! now i just gotta figure out if I can pull off the trip or not. Probably fly this time around if I go. i'd like to take the silver chopper out there but don't have the vaca time to schlepp that bitch across country.

I still think its cool that you don't have to be present to win. i've always been kinda scketchy about that sort of thing but.... Man would it be cool to have either onre of those bikes show up at your door?!!!
Still, i'm gonna try to make it out there. Got alot of irons in the fire. It's also cool that the invited builders are cats with or without legit shops. some or probably most of the invites are dudes just like you or me. That is cool as fuck. I try to build shit to n the level to get that kind of recognition. Gives us something to shoot for besides the enjoyment of having the coolest bikes in the neighborhood!

Just booked my flight for Born Free today! My girlfriend surprised me and booked my flight. I'd been making excuses why we we really can't afford for me to go and she just did it. Fly in on Friday and fly out on Monday! I'm super excited. She had a flight voucher from getting bumped off a flight recently so with that my round trip airfare is only about a hundred bucks. I also got a screaming deal on a hotel so It's on!
Now I need to find out what's going on for pre-parties or other stuff happening before or after the actual show so i can make the most of my vacation.
This will be the first actual vacation i have ever taken as an adult.I've been all over North America for work and have done shit loads of traveling but this will be the first time I've really taken any time to do something for me.

We just got solid works at my work to replace auto cad. The dude learning it is designing me some super narrow trees as a practice project. they look cool as fuck on the computer. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I also got the balls enough to cut a frisco tank from lowbrow in half to narrow it. I was going to send it to Slimsfab to have narrowed until my girlfriend called me a pussy and told me to do it myself!! It cut nice and straight. used a laser to mark center and cut it with a cut off wheel. pieced together nicely so far.Took an inch and a half right out of the center. I'll post pics of it pieced together. I think it will turn out great. next i want to cut an inch and a half right out of the center of a sportster rear fender I have laying around here and see how it looks. Drilled the cylinder breather spigot out to i think it was 11/64...supposed to help things flow a little easier. anyone want to comment on that? I read it several times on here figured I go for it.

Cut an 1 1/2" out of the center. stock tank on left for comparison. the cut looks off but when you cut the shell it has a little spring to it. it lays together very nicely. now to weld it and so on.

Lookin' good Jambo. Sat night after Born Free, we're doing a little party/screening deal at a great bar in Orange. It's easy to get to from the venue and there are plenty of other bars, etc to hit after the movie.

Lost a good friend this week. Dude lived and breathed bikes. He was a farmer in rural Illinois. Lived on a secondary highway and was waiting for oncoming traffic to turn left into his driveway and was rear ended by an elderly woman. The world is a little dimmer without this guy around. nicest cat I ever have known.
