Baja Road Trip '09

So, I got invited on this baja trip the dudes at www.vbs.tv are doing, basically some skaters going to the bottom of baja on bikes to hit a crazy park in El Pescadero. I've never been there exactly, but been all over baja so maybe I can help out a little. I'm more than a little stoked to say the least. I'm going to try and shoot pics along the way and post some here and there if we can catch some wi-fi. I dig reading road trip stories, so hopefully some of you do too. I wouldn't dare call myself a skateboarder, especially not by today's standards, but I'm bringing a board anyway just to push around on. I've surfed with pros, ridden on the same track at the same time as motocross pros and raced baja with pros, all of which were VERY humbling experiences. Now it's time to see some real world-class skating up close. I can't wait, at the very least it'll be fun to ride motos through the Mexican desert.

Here's some pics of the 2010 Street Bob loaner I picked up this afternoon. Ready to rock. First stop, San Diego in the AM to meet up with the rest of the crew, go over last-minute plans and hit the road. Tomorrow we should be in Quatro Casas by late afternoon watching these guys shred the rad.

What, no oil under there...

Bob is loaded.

Day planner.

Time to quit braggin' and start checking the weather, it's windy as shit right now and 5:00AM comes early.

Not only does this sound sweet, I am thinking about living in Michigan once again and am realizing how nice Baja would be right now. I miss SoCal and Mexico hopefully I get stationed out there again.

Bill why the hell would you want to make a trip like that on a bike that runs and starts everytime you get on it. Shit the chances of your pants catching on fire again are like zero on a bike like that. No fucking fun at all.

I guess he's just getting old. We'll have to put him out to pasture pretty soon, or get him a trike.

Made it to quatros today right before dark. One tip over in the dirt with one guy but no injury, only cosmetic damage to bike. Really good guys to ride with. Lots of strong winds but otherwise easy day. Shot a few pics and video, will upload when we hit wifi. Fxr may be pissed, and I don't blame it! That bob is fast and easy as he'll to ride, almost takes the fun out of it.

Bill,
Where is exactly is Quatros?
I used to go down to el Rosario quite a bit which is about an hour south of san quentin,
Never heard of Quatros,
& could not spot it on the map. maybe I'm going blind.
Have a bitchen time down there.

Off the top of my head I believe Its by Colonet and the Rio San Telmo, could be wrong it has been a number of years since I have visited - check a map, should be easy, if not look for Camalu if you like surfing, some good spots through there as well on the way to 4 houses.
