Girder Plans
I have a crazy thought that I can build a girder for my bike. Anyone have any plans?
I'm looking for something along the lines of the one here:
http://brewracingframes.com/id81.htm
Thanks for any/all help.

My computer (6 year old Mac) is about to shit the bed. Looking at getting a new one, but I don't have a ton of scratch so it might be a minute. If it's a gigantic email file, I would be wary of it being sent to me, but I may be able to convince my wife to download it and burn it to a cd. Let me know.

If the file is that big, a free drop box account might be in order. If you PM me your email, I can send you a referral.

Ya Ive looked for plans and neve could find some. Looks like you will just have to old school it and do some trial and error.
The best thing I found was this youtube video
How I Fabricated My Custom Girder Front End - East Side Choppers
TANKAR1
It always looked to me that once you get a set of triples cut up your home free, have you looked into a shock to use that will limit you to.
Here are a few images that might help

When building front ends make sure you already have the frame set up at correct height and front wheel so you can determine length. Doing it backwards, building girder first will just cause headaches later. The length of your links determine your trail so make these last so you can dial it in as best you can. Check out chopper handbook.

But I don't think the plans downloads section are hot right now. Or at least hit and miss at best.
Heres the url for the forums

back in the day
They used to cut them out of steel. Ever hear of the "flame cut" girder. That's old school. Probably do one with a plasma cutter now. That would be a cool new wrinkle.

a buddy of mine picked up the full set of plans from the chopper hand book. it has 3-4 different frame plans 2-3 different style drop outs a wide and narrow springer, girder and even a leafer plan set. pretty good shit they even came with the dx files if you have access to CNC equipment. the best part is that it comes with McMaster-Carr part numbers for all the bushings and inserts. i had upper and lower trees that were in DX cut on a plasma table a wile back I just got to get around to making the jigs for cutting the holes for the DOM tubing, i would much rather get with someone have them add the front and back legs leg holes to the DX files so i could just have everything cut on a water jet that would make life easier
