    Girder Plans

I have a crazy thought that I can build a girder for my bike. Anyone have any plans?

I'm looking for something along the lines of the one here:

    Thanks for any/all help.

Not sure what you mean. Is it a really big file? Do you want me to send you a blank disc?

My computer (6 year old Mac) is about to shit the bed. Looking at getting a new one, but I don't have a ton of scratch so it might be a minute. If it's a gigantic email file, I would be wary of it being sent to me, but I may be able to convince my wife to download it and burn it to a cd. Let me know.

BEOSC has a book on the subject, http://www.bitterendchoppers.com/SpringerParts2.html. Dont know if it has actual plans or not, but saw a nice one built from the book.

If the file is that big, a free drop box account might be in order. If you PM me your email, I can send you a referral.

Ya Ive looked for plans and neve could find some. Looks like you will just have to old school it and do some trial and error.

The best thing I found was this youtube video
How I Fabricated My Custom Girder Front End - East Side Choppers
                      TANKAR1

It always looked to me that once you get a set of triples cut up your home free, have you looked into a shock to use that will limit you to.

Here are a few images that might help

When building front ends make sure you already have the frame set up at correct height and front wheel so you can determine length. Doing it backwards, building girder first will just cause headaches later. The length of your links determine your trail so make these last so you can dial it in as best you can. Check out chopper handbook.

Agreed, and thats where I got the ones I linked.
But I don't think the plans downloads section are hot right now. Or at least hit and miss at best.
