Here is a helmet I just finished up using some Roth Rattle Bombs. I tried to take pictures throughout the whole process but really got into it and forgot some steps. Pictures were take with my iPhone, so some of them might not be the highest quality.
I started out with a gloss black Daytona helmet because it was cheap. If I screwed up and had to toss it, oh well.
Sanded smooth and masked for painting.
I used two cans of Sulfite Silver flake.
Close up of the flake.
Next I used one and a half cans of Dupli Color Acrylic Enamel Premium Automotive Formulation clear.
Close up with the clear on it.
I laid out my design, and masked everything but where the lace will go. This is where I start to lack pictures.
I misted black for the lace. I probably should have gone darker, but wasn't sure at the time how much to spray.
Here are my panels with ribboning, ready for two cans of Bad Azz Blue Candy.
All painted and ready for clear.
Here it is after another one and a half cans of clear, sanding, buffing, and adding the chrome door trim.
I am very pleased with the final results. The flake really stands out in the sun. Hope you like it!!
