    the race where the trans comes through on the right side was messed up also, and was causing the trans gears to rub against the wall and I was told I was lucky that the spot Dragstews was talking about didn't break also.

    this gives me hope that my 77 still has a chance in hell though!

        Whoever you have fix it ask about the process, if they weld it in their lap, run, if they ask for both halves preheat and cool down in a kiln or at least bolt the one half down to a thick plate your going to getter a better job. Looking at that, they're is going to be some machining involved after welding, tricky area with the geny on one side and cam cover on the other . Probably going to be cheaper with a replacement case.

          I'm assuming they did this at creekside then?
          roughly how much did it cost for them to fix your crack, if you don't mind me asking.
          I just need to get an idea of if it would be better to get a new case, I checked out their work and it looked really good
