made some more progress on the bike.

    Got new levers:

Chopped the exhaust and fabbed new exhaust tips and got rid of the stock air box:

Fabbed up the box to house the wiring and welded a vertical bar where the old frame was cut to convert to a hardtail:

Threw a quick coat of paint on the new parts so they don't rust before I get a real paint job:

Here is a few more shots of my 06 VLX still changing little by little. Planning to swap the bars once again over the winter and maybe add some fork gaiters. Debating on a sissy bar and butt pad on the rear fender. I also need to ditch that factory airbox and pipes. Already mounted an Avon speedmaster up front after I shot these.

It looks to me like your "gas tank" is some sort of cover/shell (no gas cap).

my guess is the electronics go under the "tank" the giant box under the seat is for gas and the sissy bar is a reserve. Looks fucking killer.

Id buy you a beer right now if I could. Youre the first to guess right.

The back bones on the 750 are light, strong and way too fucking big. So I used the stock fuel pump system to do a dual tank set up. Upper drains into lower and the fp puts it to the carbs. In the pictures I was good for 2.5 gallons. My lower tank now holds 2.5 and my upper isnt finished but its looking big. My goal is 4 gallons so I can ride till im tired, not till I run out of fuel.

heres a shot my first shakedown run, you can see the battery is in the frame.

I did my own hardtail, r/s foot clutch, brembo R1 front master cyl on the bars to a 6piston busa caliper on the rear. Converted my neck to accept 1" harley stems and the dna bolts right in.

All done in my one car garage with a grinder, portaband, tig welder, eastwood bender. Oh and a fuck load of beer. Cheers guys.
