It's not a solid rear wheel. It's spoked wheel with metal covers bolted over the spokes.

Thanks Josh! I wish I had those Mullins chain drive trees that you got, those really look good on your bike.

That bike is awesome but I have a thing for Wassell style tanks. Personaly I think Sportster tanks look best on Harley's, and Wassell tanks look best on Brit/ vertical twin bikes. How hard was it to get the brake mounted on that front wheel and how well does it stop? I have one on my XLCH and it barely slows me down, but the bike is a lot heavier than my XS.

I have it spaced for airflow. The rotor stays a lot cooler that way.

It took some fine tuning to get the front brake to work, at first it barely worked at all. I sanded the inside of the drum. De-glazed and filed down the leading edge of the shoes to match the arc of the drum better. I even bought new semi metallic shoes, but haven't installed them yet. With the stock shoes, it stops pretty good now, I would say it is 80 percent strong as the disc brake it replaced. I made a bracket to mount the stay and cable, and spacers to center the wheel. As you prob know the xl axle and xs axle are both 17mm, so that makes it somewhat easier.

Sweet bike man. I'm not really a fan of running bobbed fender and sticking it up like that but it looks good on your build.

after seeing another post about high mount pegs, I finally decided to do mine. I have been putting it off because I haven't felt like re-doing my foot clutch and jockey shift, but enough being lazy, time to get to work.
