the Firestone ANS is a fantastic tire, doesn't follow rain groves and has a great rubber compound. we use them all the time.

Firestone champion deluxe handling?

I just bought a pair and spent my whole paycheck getting them. They look the balls but has anyone put some miles on these? How do they handle?

these tires are the shit. super sticky soft compound so you won't get many miles out of them 4-6k maybe but man they handle awesome. they will feel a bit weird for the first 20mi or so because of the taller sidewall but you won't regret it. and yes, on top of it they look fucking badass.

I ran several of 'em. Like havin another gear on top end , handle a little heavy but after a 100 miles you'll like it. I only got about 4500 out of 'em and to me it's not worth the extra money. Now I've got a 175 R 16 Austone and it looks new with3000 on it.

I've been considering a pair of the Avon SM MKii 5.00x16's instead of the Firestones..You have
any take on them?

my .02 on the 16x5.10s is they are long running, sturdy and all around great tyres. a bit 'stiff' compared to the coker/firestone deluxes, but not to a fault.

Avon SM MKII16x5.10s front and rear on The Mule:

It's a heavy tire. But once I got used to it (100 miles) I like it but I'm runnin 45 lbs. in and it's a hard ride. If it will get me 10,000 or more I'll do another one

Thanks, Mike
Sounds good except for the "stiff" part..I am currently running a hard tail and want a big lower pressure tire than the Metzeler Marathon 880's on it now. Want to save some wear and tear on the old back & kidneys...

I've been a great admirer of TheMule for a couple of years now, but have yet to see it in person.

That's weird, I don't have an odometer but I know I have around 8k on mine. Yeah it's getting pretty thin but it should last the summer. It might be because I'm running it on my weak-ass Ironhead and don't hot dog it too much. It's been a great tire.

yeah in my research before buying i had a very knowledgeable person tell me that who runs these all the time. he said if he runs them hard he'll see 5-6k mi. out of them maybe a little more if he isn't ripping it all the time.

First Impression

I just took my first short ride with the new Firestone's. my first impression is that they are a little heavier in the steering category than my Avon Roadrunners obviously, but it didn't take but about 5-6 turns to get used to that. I thought I was leaning them way over on my Kawi cafe racer, but when I got home I looked at the wear and I wasn't even over on the sidewall part. So bottom line... so far these are riding good I think they are going to be just fine, and they look F'n badass!!

How about these? Are they similar to what doppleganger87 is refering to?

FIRESTONE MOTORCYCLE TIRE - 325-16
325-16 - BLACK
Part # 63286

I found them for $34 online, but am not finding much about them...
