Got a 77 kz 1000 that I am trying to make into a 70's style digger. Where would one find a spinger or girder to fit the neck? Also anyone have any good dimensions for frame rake. Thinking around 45 degrees rake with 12" over forks. thanks
Springer or Girder front end for digger?

Definitely a girder front end. Lighter and less trail movement through the suspension travel. You can have one made for less than $500. Check with local machine shops and welders, especially young machinists looking for a challenge. If retaining your stock neck change over to tapered bearings. You may be able to reuse your stem if welded properly to your new trees.
Check out http://www.chopperhandbook.com/neatstuff/index.html and read the rake/trail articles as well as springer/girder tech pages.Comment
