fuck yeah!!! that came out nice. I like the stitching. I was looking at one of the books I got about doing the stitching and lacing and it looks hard. Good job man!

I've wanted to try my hand at leather work for awhile now and this is just the motivation I need. You've done a very impressive job so far sir, keep it up!

Thanks again for the kind words. I added a pic of the templates I used on the opening post. It's easy to burn a piece of $.30 posterboard vs. messing up $100 worth of leather. I used the posterboard to make exact measurements for the size and width of my bag. After you get it the way you like it trace the template on the leather and get to cuttin!

I'm also going to re-lace the back of the bag. I did it late at night and had too many beers and it came out all cock-eyed. It was a mistake that will take me 3-4 hours to correct!!!!

              Finished...for now

Got the bag done (for now). It came out a little bigger than I wanted but I guess that's good considering I'm riding to the BMR next month. I'm sure I will enjoy having a place to put my shit. Eventually I will take a few inches out of the gusset to slim it up a bit. Let me know what you guys think.

What doesn't it hold??? Seriously, it came out bigger than I planned originally but I like it. Right now my 30 oz fuel bottle, gloves, hat, a few tools, etc. with room to spare. I'll run it for a little while and when I have some time I will cut the gusset and thin it up a little.

Not me...this bag took me a month of Sundays to finish. I'll make stuff for myself so I don't end up on the "Shit List" thread!!!!

Haha, learn to take a compliment bud . I hope you don't hangup the leather-working tools just yet though! That floral pattern you carved in there really blew me away, especially since you're so green to the craft. Keep at it bro!!
