Filing / circulation of the oil in my Ironhead ?

so my ironhead has no guage or anything to tell how much oil is in the entire engine or when to stop filling. any way of figuring it out?
Also if i'm filling oil for the first time since the bike was built, how can i make sure the oil is circulating the entire system with no pressure guage?

any advise would help or some step procedure
    thanks

First order of business is put a gauge on it. Get a manual for a iron head.

Find a manual. See what it says. Put that much in. if there's any room left, fill it up.

Take off the return line or oil filter and start it. See if the oil is flowing back to the tank.

Make sure you have a dipstick in the crankcase to see how much oil is in the entire engine.

Pull the plugs, remove the return oil line. Start kicking, when oil shits on the floor the system is primed

Bit hard in a dry sump engine.

Pressure does not = flow. A pressure gauge will not necessarily indicate if oil is flowing through the entire engine.
                    RTFM!
All FSM's have an oil flow diagram.
Dump in two quarts of 50W, prime kicks as previously posted. Run it briefly, top off oil tank, leaving a little head space/expansion room.
