Those solid wheels look fantastic in black. I kinda like the fender as is myself.

Picked up an 82 FXR the other day through a friend of a friend. Trying to figure out if I'm the asshole who puts the drivetrain in a new frame, or tries to get it looking like new.Click image for larger version

Mr. Miller you have posted this 3 times looking for input.
There are other shovel's available so no need to ruin a FXR.
Not what you wanted to hear but there ya go.

Hey All, name’s TP, new to the chop scene, not new to bikes. Picked up this basket case 1999 1200XLH recently and got it back to running condition. Wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it as I have a touring scoot as well...then it hit me when I was staring at some David Mann artwork...chop the sucker...lol....so slammed the rear end, and put on that sissy bar to start...need to wait for the safety check before stripping all the non essentials off...after that it’s game on!

Plan to go +4 over on the front end for start, install narrow z bars and get my hands on some 40 spoke...21” on the front...there are some great ideas on here and a big thanks to everyone! Oh yeah, and a king cobra seat of some sorts...

Found these bars at a swap, completely grimy when I bought them, cleaned them up a bit, would like to restore the chrome any suggestions?

Also a link to any threads on cleaning the bars up... definitely want to keep my front brake so I'm looking for a smaller Master cylinder set up, I plan on relocating the electric start and making smaller turn signal switches...also new turn signals and relocate them to the forks...any suggestions and advice would be great.

OH YA also looking for a smaller tank if any one is holding (peanut,Frisco, etc)

a crumpled up ball of aluminum foil dipped in water and rub the chrome with it.
we have a good classified section here where you can post WTB items.
