Not my VW but I have been helping a friend with his 66. We got it with fried pistons risted out brake drums and a laundry list full of shit. Been going through her part by part fixing everything and welding in stronger floor boards and heater channels, then we sleeved the engine and got the brakes and transmision working. There was like 7 layer of paint on the fucking thing and the guy who had it befor too the suspension out of the front and it was riding right on the axle.

My 54 bug that I have owned for 38 years, bought it out of a junkyard for $150. 1835, Kadrons, cam and a few other goodies, disc brakes, late tranny. I wanna slam the front end one of these days.

So...is 8k a lot for a '71 beetle that's been rotisseried? Vw noob here. It was pretty enough to make me think it was a fair price. But that's why I have you guys. Yes or no go. Zero rust, no fiberglass, perfect interior. Motor seems brand new. What kind of headaches am I looking at?

It's not air cooled, or even gasoline powered, but my neighbor has a Jetta TDI Cup that's pretty sweet. He's also got a Road King, if you care.
