    V-Star Prostreet Build

    Hey,
New to posting on here. Long story short I bought a totally messed up 650 for a 1000 dollars while I was in college in 2007. 1200 miles on it. The frame was a disaster, I probably still have the picture somewhere. Anyway, I finally bought another frame and it is getting a single curved backbone and dual curve downtubes. Tigman should hopefully have it done by the end of the month.
The bike as it sits basically just looks like a normal vstar other than being rigid, custom exhaust, and raked trees. Picture below. Basically wanting that low prostreet look that I love. I'm sure I will have some questions, especially wiring ones. Pretty much going to do everything myself, that's how I learned, other than the seat and maybe paint (though I've done it before).

Yeah just going with a solid bar as the shock.

For what its worth, if you're going hardtail I'd dive in. Its a Massive weight savings getting rid of that stuff. My old frame is much bigger material, and stretched and still comes in a good 40 lbs or so lighter.

Cost wise i dont think its worth it. These bikes all have the weight down low, plus its a 40 hpcruiser, so making it lighter doesnt do much for me. I can always go back to softtail or air ride then too in the future if i want.

Got my frame in last night. Had to toss the engine in and mount the tank. So much happier with this frame than the one I got done a few years back.

Got the bike on the ground. Put on the rear fender I made hugs the tire, single carb, and headlight. Tossed the handlebars on that came with the bike and I do not like them much. They are okay comfort wise but as for looks, not doing it.

I'm not really sure what I should get, and suggestions?

I'm not looking to spend a ton so I might have to make them. I really like the mini curved apes that roland sands has but they cost about 300 (plus they might look like trash on this bike, my photoshop skills suck with putting different ones on).

Personally I think it screams for a set of clip ons, but it wouldnt be that good for comfort.....2nd choice would be a set of Z bars with rolled tubes to match the radiused backbone.

Been awhile since I've worked on the bike. Got some parts for xmas and will try to get it done this summer. I did run into a problem with the petcock. The bung is too close to the frame so my petcock hits the frame and also sits down too low compared to my carb inlet.

I think i have two solutions but am unsure.
                          1. Move the gas outlet to the rear of the tank and weld on a small piece of tubing (kind of like bobbers do) or do the same at the front.
                          2. I have a 2 crossover bungs at the front of the tank to allow fuel to flow from one side of the tank to the other. I could put in a Y or T connector in the middle of the crossover tube and run that to the carb. I think that might be the best option.

Needed a new spot to mount the coils. Always like the side coil mounts so made a bracket and put it on. Liking the way it turned out.

This is the most bad ass vstar 650 I have seen. I was skeptical on how a shaft driven pro street would look, but you nailed it. Cant wait to see it finished
