Suzuki S40

Okay, I don't get out much. I was in little Lava Hot Springs Idaho this weekend and I saw my first ever Suzuki S40. Beautiful single cylinder bike just begging to be chopped... Who has been working on these? I happened to notice Kevinphan here has one. Don't ask me how I got to that. I'd love to hear what people are doing with these. Even though it's a S40.. where ever that model name came from, these are single 650s. Looks like a whole new avenue for donor bikes....

Is that a complete frame or a hardtail 'kit'?

Stock frame and then I had Dave (www.tanksbytigman.com) do the hardtail, came out extremely clean.

Kevins biek is insane. Went cruising through Boston with him and the backfire out of that thumper would scare the ever living shit out of everyone within ear shot. I was laughing the whole time, hahahaha

i must not get out much either... i'm sure i've seen one of these bikes before, but never really paid much attention. after seeing that cafe and kevin's bike i'm kind of intrigued by them now. i'd love to see some more if anyone else has chopped one up.

I have one. I tried to do something with it but im lazy and I can't use tools so... maybe next winter.
Funny thing is that in Poland you can get LS650 cheaper than XS650 or SR. And yes this is really cool bike.

It has a different handle bar and riser setup now. Hopefully I will be able to hardtail it in the future but for now it is my daily rider and I go through withdrawals if I don't ride for more than a day or so. haha

this bike has been around for years and years- it was called a suzuki savage for most of its life, than a LS650 and now the boulavard S40.

i had one took it on 2 years of the gypsy run the bike was an absolute blast!!! light as shit, low end all day and i could keep up with everyone just fine. i changed bars all the time, used a 10 18" exhaust tip from napa for the muffler swap, took some figureing out on how to clutch and throttle to stop from back firing but its possible- definetley gonna be one of my all time favortie bikes ive owned- this is her right before i handed it off to my brother in law (had to do some urban camo if i was gonna be taking it down into NYC/NJ hahaaaha)

Savages' rule. Super short, good ground clearance, so simple they are a breeze to modify. I use mine as a commuter and I feel like I am on my old redline again. Tigman's hard tail looks great in motion. Grail over at knucklebuster has a project that I have been waiting to see complete. Thanks for posting the pics.

Some great examples of what you can do with this modern thumper. I'd like to mess with one if a deal popped up locally but all the ones I see on CL are late model, low miles and asking 2500-3000ish.

thats damn near what they are new, i bought mine new and within a year had changed a ton of stuff at first i was worried about it but than i realized theres little to no resale value so i might as well make it the way i liked it.
