What kind of headlight are we going with???

So if anyone has looked at my thread And so it begins in the american bikes section I have been slowly acquiring parts for a shovelhead chopper. I recently came across a wide glide front end that I picked up. it had no headlight. I've been thinking that I would mount a rectangle headlight just to be different you know, but Idk what that would look like. Anyone have any pics of that? Also anyone have any specific brand of headlight to go with?

I stuck to a Bates copy on my latest build. I might be unadventurous but:
1/ Too many nice builds get screwed with ugly headlights with poor proportions
    2/ They are my favorite.

I've got a Bates on the Panhead right now, but am waiting on the delivery of a deeper halogen based unit. I am not sure if as HH says it will screw up the proportions, but I figure it is worth a shot.

I used the rectangle lights on one build early on and while it made me happy at the time, I look back and realize I could have done better.

Them crested Unity lamps look good, and affordable repops exist. I have a bigger, deeper lamp on my shovel...

Now thats nice I'll keep that in mind. After we get the frame back I"m on the hunt for wheels we should meet the Christmas deadline to have a roller sans motor. The odds and end I'm working on rn are finding the headlight, some small apes, risers and such, and a set of 21 and 16 inch spoke wheels.

That almost looks like the lens from an old Railroad lantern. Very cool

Cheers dude! only problem with the sugar bear springer, I want to lower the light but it requires making a pretty involved bracket! when I have time! haha.

I really like these Unity ambulance spotlights with the grab knob on the back. Had to change the socket so it had 2 beams. The chrome is incredible that one came off an ambulance that was built in 73. But they still build and sell them.

I used a unity bucket just like dave shows in his post on my last panhead I built. changed it to house a 6v h4 bulb. plenty of light and fit the looks of the bike.

Put a Springer light on it. They look "right" on a Wide Glide and they are long enough to put an LED bulb in so night turns into day!
