Are keith black pistons good enough ?

I'm going to convert my 883 sporty to 1200 and will get the cylinders bored. Theres a big price difference in pistons & the keith black ones seem a good price. If i had more money i'd go with s&s or wiseco, but i don't.

Does anyone know through experience if theyre good or not ?

Umm, Kieth Black Pistons are a performance piston, just as good as Wiseco and S&S

Not 100% true.. The cheap pistons I bet he's referring to are Hypereutectic, which do not handle abuse as well as forged pistons.

That being said, I have been running kb Hypereutectic pistons for the past 7 years, 120 passes at the track and thousands of street miles. If I had to do it all over again I'd buy the more expensive forged pistons. Just my 2 cents.

I have KB hypo's in my shovel and I have no complaints at all.If you aint runnin super high comp or nitrous you dont really need forged pistons.

I hate their wrist pin clips, but other than that they are very decent pistons.

Yea I fought and fought with them....then I read the instructions about pulling them apart then putting em in. I must of checked em twenty times before putting the jugs on.

I'm into fast cars as well as old ,slow bikesLOL hyper pistons can take a 150 shot of nitrous ,with proper tuning for a looooooooong time.and keith black is a name synonymous with strong engines.those wrist pin clips suck to install.i agree.but, they are better in the respect that they cant be overbent like a c style clip.alot of noob engine builders have had wristpin failures because they collapsed c clips too far.
