I think the issue is that NOBODY likes the price of plating.........
and anybody who did get something plated doesn't want to admit what they paid for chrome.
The one in Sterling has prices.....but like a fork tube is $88 and an S&S aircleaner is $97(a used chrome one is only like 20bucks, go figure).

Most places say to CALL for pricing.
I'd say if you REALLY want that custom piece chrome......you will pay the price.

This shop is in California where they began hammering chrome shops with regulations over 30 years ago... The good news is that this shop survived and does super work at "reasonable" prices. If you email them a pic of what you want to do they will give you a quote in email. You can Fedex ground the parts to them and they are very reliable. For example South Bay chrome did two badly rusted Jones wheel rims (40 spoke) for me for $150 each which believe it or not is a good price. They also chromed a BSA fuel tank for me for $350 which sounds high, but no other shop would touch it whether local or out of state. The result is flawless and considering the price of the unobtainium replacement tank $350 was a good deal. It is all relative if you can't get a high quality chromed pattern part or NOS replacement a company like SBC is about the only choice IMO.
