Well, this day has started shitty

Got a call from my mom she got rear ended on the 10 W. freeway between the Yucaipa on ramp and Wabash off ramp. Got my brother so we could go get her, then waited for the tow truck. On our way back my brother's car blew an oil line, so now we're on the side of the 10 east past the Wabash exit waiting for AAA. Luckily my brother's car is an easy fix, my mom's car not so much.
My mom seems fine but she says her neck and back are a little sore, so if it's worse tomorrow we're taking her to see a doctor. Odd part is, the girl that hit her is an old friend of mine Randi that I haven't seen in a while. Basically this is what happened: Mom got rear ended while merging to the slow lane on the 10 west while avoiding a white SUV that blew a tire and spun out next to her. Randi couldn't stop in time and smashed in to the back of my mom's car.

Glad she's still in one piece. I've been rear-ended on the freeway before. 5 grand worth of damage to my car, I was sore for a week.

Take it from someone in the medical field and get her to the ER today. Dont wait. Everyone thinks they are fine and then a few days or a week later and bam they are in my clinic to see me and Im giving them the same speech on how you always head to the ER for an exam after a MVA

Looks better on the insurance side of things if you get checked out right away as well. Better to know now.

Sorry to hear about your mom, hope she's ok. On a side note, pics of Randi or this conversation never happened.

Sorry for your troubles homie but your not the lone ranger. Took my family out of town to new braunfels for a few days. Was headed back home this morning and 3 1/2 hours from the house my ol's 08 explorer decided to give up the ghost. Luckily we were right beside a ford dealership so we coasted in. Automatically i could tell they were trying to chingalay us. Called my old man and hes on his way with a trailer to get us. Sitting here waiting for him right now.

Ugh, completely shitty day. So my mom ended up talking to her insurance adjuster who explained to her that since she still owes $10K on her care, and the damage costs more to repair than the fair markiet value (The car at resale can go anywhere from $7K to 1$10K), then Randi's insurance will total it out and only pay off the car, which will leave my mom stuck without a vehicle, and now my mom has to go to the doctor tomorrow to be seen because she's having pain in her neck and back (She's had a spinal fusion before with a titanium plate and screws fusing the C3 and C4 together, so this worries me). Then I also got cut from work early tonight, which is shitty. This shit fucking sucks, because my ma without a vehicle means she can't get to work which means she loses her place to live. Fuck everything. I also pissed that the guy who blew the tire and spun out (Which is why my mom hit the brakes and moved to the next lane) stopped on the side of the freeway and as soon as he noticed my mom's car got hit, he bolted, not even checking to see if anyone was okay. Fuck that piece of shit motherfucker too.

That sucks to hear. I got rear ended about ten years ago but luckily I had great insurance that handled everything, rental car and cut us a check for repairs, said they'd deal with the other dude's crappy insurance.

My Thursday night/Friday morning was exciting

Normally, you'd think this was a bad thing. But,

Otherwise, a normal, healthy birth. Just couldn't make it to the hospital in time

Had to take my mom to the hospital t6oday since she was puking due to migraines cause by neck pain. They did CT scans, x-rays, etc. They said nothing's fractured or broken, but she does have bruising and soft tissue swelling. Also found out she has bone spurs on her thoracic spine from and old injury and this aggravated it. They gave her some good pain meds and she seems to be doing a lot better since getting back from the hospital.

That sucks, I hope your mom recovers soon so she doesn't lose her job. Good thing you got her to see a doc the next day, I didnt go when I was rear ended and was laid out for a couple weeks in back pain. Always see a doc as soon as you can after a wreck because your body will continue to get fed adrenaline sometimes for a few days afterwards.

Cars are replaceable (especially PT Losers,) people are not. Hope your mom's alright.

If she already owed $10k on that then once the insurance pays it off she can just go get another loan and owe $10k on something else can't she?

Well, more bad news. My mom got a call from the hospital for more CT scans and x-rays because they found a loose screw in the titanium plate in her neck and are referring her to a specialist this time. Also, shit night at work. Had some guys trying to start shit 30 feet from the entrance to my bar (They just left my bar). Unfamiliar faces/ new guys. They were trying to start shit with a regular. Well, my friend's brother at that time was crossing the street to come back to our bar when one of the guys starting shit sucker punched him for no reason and knocks him out cold in the street. At this point I call Emergency to get paramedics en route because his head made a sickening thud ion the concrete and he's breathing shallow and not responsive. Luckily two of my friends are paramedics and attended to him until the EMT's got there. We thought it was a typical knockout until about 4:30 AM when I got the call that he was rushed into emergency surgery in ICU and put on a respirator.

Fuck this whole week in the neck.
