I did exactly what you wanted to do with bolts straight through the top tube. But I used mounting bolts with the rubber bushings (you can get em from lowbrow) I just snagged em from the old 2 inch water pumps at my job.

And if you want it clean you can just drop a threaded bung in the tube. But this bike is meant to look like a heap so it just depends on how nice you want it to look.

So you just tapped the frame and screwed the bolts in? Can you post some close up pics?

I am planning o. Using a prebuilt frame with 0 stretch. Should I rethink that decision? i I am not sure if pachugo frames already have a mounting point for oil tanks. I am not a skilled weldee yet and if I need welding I will probably have someone do it for me.
