Sportster front brake line question

On my 09 XL, the front brake line goes from a rubber hose at the caliper, to a hard line up the forks, back to a rubber line at the caliper. Is there a reason H-D did this, other then aesthetics? I made a set of bars, and all the cables and wiring reaches easily, but the brake line is pulled pretty tight, even with rebending the steel line. Is there any reason I shouldn't just get a whole SS line made to run from the master to the caliper? I dont see any problem in doing so, but just want to make sure there isnt something that I am overlooking.

Dont run full SS lines, they wont give (bend) like rubber does when your forks contract. They may get bent/kinked and wont work like they should. Just my opinion/thoughts. But do what you want

If you are thinking of running braided stainless steel lines you are good to go. My Shovel is plumbed with it from master cylinders to caliper, front and rear and they flex like rubber. Be aware that if they are bare steel they will cut into anything they rub against like a hacksaw.

I have dual front brakes, and they were always mushy and horrible. I changed to braided stainless lines, and it made a huge improvement.
I made my own lines using parts from http://www.anplumbing.com/
Make or buy, I definitely suggest going to braided stainless lines.

yeah i always swap my bikes over to braided stainless lines go a littl eover length to give yourself compression and expansion room and get the coated stuff to protect anything it touches and youll notice signifigant improvement in braking power

I meant steel braided. Not a solid hardline.
