thanks man!

had some time over and uploaded a few close-up pics. I don't have the time right now to do the finish on things. I'll take some time to do this later on after it's gone through inspection and such. I rather have a half decent bike on the road than a flawless in the garage.

Tomorrow I'll attempt making a sissy for the bike. Wish me luck.

so, made a sissy. still needs some tweaking but i just need something to mount my plate on, and later on some bags and stuff.

also had to cut into my electronic box, you can see a little of it in the first pic. The chaing was getting a little too close, and I had some room to cut, so did it the easy way.
Here is how it looks with everything crammed in there:

also my speedo got mounted. small thing, but everything is starting to come together now.

Will finish mounting the sissybar, taillight, headlight and my carbs. after that its pretty much finished for inspection.

thanks man,
im thinking speed holes might do the trick. I've seen them tucked away before, they are not a vision for sore eyes so I really like them hidden.

Crap.. You've got some serious progress in the last few days. All I'm doing is trying to get my rear wheel to line up with the rest of my pile of junk.

Your's comming together real nice! And you look like one happy camper on yours. Making any vrroooom-vrooom sounds while sitting on it? Lol.

Ordered your bars yet?

Keep it up!

I live in sweden, and here if you modify your bike to the extent that I have done you have to go through some inspections. Today I was at the first of these, and got some tips and hints what to do to pass the final inspection. A really cool guy, and everything was good, just need to add a chainguard and do a better job strapping the battery tight. Also if I mount my original silencers I might not need a sound-test which would be pretty effin awesome since it saves me some money and time. So need to figure these things out and then start to paint the frame and tins. Also im in the market for a new headlight, this old one is just for making it through inspections. Then its the wiring and hoping everything will start when finished. Have to pick up the pace, but I can almost feel it now.

Here is a pic from when I got home.

oh yeah, i also ordered some bars from zombie-performance. Went with the legsplitters.

stay tuned!

okay, so I've been working my ass of the last couple of days.
been doing the last fab-work and prepping everything,. also started on the wiring.

painted the frame, only to realise it looked like shit and I decided to redo it. Stripped the paint and cleaned the frame. tiresome work. but totally worth it. my pops helped me with the paint.

first some pics to set the mood:

from this:

to this:

and then doing it proper:

and the base for the tins and the sissy:

so happy with my decision to do it over.
some more layers will be put down tomorrow.

Massive amount of time in the garage. Deadline on sunday and things are going both up and down.

Kicked out some paint, really pleased with how it turned out.

It started up and everything went along smoothly. Changed the oil and the filters, made sure everything was okay. At 02 in the morning as I was finishing up i noticed a pool of oil on the floor. It came from one of the sump plate bolts. Decided to feel if it was tight or if I just had forgotten it, With a finger on the wrench the bolt snapped. So I went back to bed and the next day drained the oil and removed the remains of the bolt. Now everything is tight again, but those things steal time I don't have. Electrics are nearly finished, just need to connect my rear indicators and give my speedo some light.

The mufflers are stock due to the inspection. It was a tip from the inspector, if I keep it quiet and stock they probably wont have to make a dB-test and that saves me some money.

Also got the leg splitters from steffan at zombie. Man am I pleased. they look sick. However they will not go on until after the inspections are finished and everything is a ok.

Now a cavalcade of pics! Probably forgot half the things i've done. Feel free to ask any questions if you have some.

taking out the bolt

how she sits without the tank and the old bars for inspection

the leg splitters.

And finally, the tank!

Now I gotta work for a couple of days. But everything have to be finished this sunday so It'll be a long saturday night.

Really nice looking bike you have there! Some of the things are not according to my liking but luckily there are as many different choppers as there are chopping people so we don't have to like everything. It is turning out great and it is real fun to see a swede being active and representing here on the forum! :P

Do you happen to know what material was used in your hard-tail and what material is in the original frame? What I'm thinking about is the thickness of the two different materials. I read somewhere that these to measurements can't differ to much and now I'm paranoid that I'll have to redo my own frame-work which would be a real drag!

Keep up the awesome work!!!
