Kz1000 Exhaust Ideas

So I have been thinking and the exhaust system on my bike is 2 into one on each side of the engine running under the bike. I wanted to run it like this but it is unrealistically low (About 2'' off the ground.) The only after market system i can find is the 4 inot 1 and there is no way in hell its going to fit under my bike.

I found this Cat running his exhaust completely cut and it looks like its running ok but i have herd nothing but bad things about running bikes with no back pressure. I'm kinda lost on what to do what do you guys think?

You could always cut them short and then run 'lollipops' in the ends to get your back pressure.

I used twelve dollar combo bends from speedwaymotors.com and some washers to build the pipes on my CB. It sits a little less than three and a half inches off the ground. They are version 1.0 at the moment. There's a couple things I'm going to change when I build the next set. Surprisingly easy to build.

So you just welded washers on the end of the pipes? Looks gnarly?

Never cleaned up the welds. I built them in a hurry just to get on the road. Sound great though. Ver. 2.0 will be baffled with open ends.

A lollipop is just a washer welded on a bolt. You can turn the bolt to adjust the back pressure. Something like this...
