yes its a 21 up front, I think they are kenda dual sport tires. got em for cheap so if they don't last no biggie, I kind of a fan of vintage tires, I just wist they made a 21 inch firestone.
I was in that same situation. I think the saftey milage rear looks good too though.

its definitely not that i dont like the vintage tires but if im gonna spend the money on tires i want something that will last for awhile and perform good also. from what i hear the vintage tires arent the greatest in either category.

shitty weather makes you not want to do anything, but I got around to lowering the bike a couple inches in the front. Had a progressive set I got from a guys I put some cams in for. I don't know if it was a completed set but after reading some thing on here I figure something out. All I did was put a 2 inch pvc above the damper spring and dropped the progressive spring in and put it back together. Its got the stance I wanted and levels the frame out too. I'll put some heavier fork oil in for reassurance which will be easy because of the DBI easy fill fork caps from bkrider. I don't know if I'm going to finish the frame with powdercoating and paint. My wife is getting out of the air force and we're moving to arizona so I might just try and button this up soon and ride it as it till I get down there, where I'll probably have more resources( North Dakota sucks!!!) Stay tuned...

I have seen frames painted using appliance paint, it looks great and I hear it holds up pretty good. I'm glad to hear you are getting out of that shit hole and going some place where you can ride more than 3 months out of the year.

ya they are progressive brand springs, my buddy gave me a box it had the springs and 2 three inch pieces of pvc and some shitty instructions that didn't make any sense. I just did some research and tried what other people did and that's how it came out which is the exact look I wanted. If you want I can measure my springs and let you know in case you want to just cut your springs instead. I'll be doing the forks again cuz I picked up a set of freshly shaved lowers, I'll try and do a little write up for everybody.....

Cool. Btw, shaved lowers? Doing away with the brake, fender or both?

Yeah, the stance of the bike is spot on. I'm hoping for something similar on mine. I just purchased 4 under fork tubes. How much you pick up the shaved lowers for?

putting her together
Like I said before, my wife is getting out of the air force and we're moving to phoenix in 3 months. And I want to get this thing riding before we leave so she's going back together. Got a used exhaust for cheap and it works with the kicker, push button starter, and the forwards, so it works for me. Not shiny or new but I think it looks good and a good platform incase I want to mod it later on. Also got some springs for the seat, didn't want to but it let the seat not rub on the frame. I might try and do a slim cobra style seat later on. waiting on some bungs to mount the seat. Other than that, still got to figure out somewhere to put electrical, using 3 breakers so shouldn't be too hard. Let me know what you think if you care. Hope to be riding in the next 2-3 weeks.

Dude the bike looks fresh. Got some nice style to it. Stance is right on. I have a feeling your front end is gonna bottom out and hit the lower tree, especially being so close when its still on the lift. Nice job either way.
