Very well put man. Also to be fair the music industry has changed quite a bit too. For the longest time record labels stood behind their artists meaning if they put out a crap album the label gave them another chance or two. How many great artists put out shitty record after shitty record and still remained great artists. I believe its because they were given the chance. Nowadays artists are disposable for the most part. If they fuck up they're out. So it doesn't really give them too much freedom to explore. Basically do what you're told if you wanna get paid.
