Opinions appreciated - should I chop a dunstall seat tank combo?

I bought this for my stocker - which I need to finish before my chopper....
It is supposed to be Dunstall - has no markings on it?
It's pretty long - so have a PS mock up of it shortened.
I know its a cafe sorta thing... but gotta do this before the chopper.
So any opinions would be appreciated - I'm still a little tentative about cutting it if it is a Dunstall.

Leave it alone. Looks fine. Get it done and move on to the chop. Spend time there.

It's a really nice piece so make it better or leave it alone kind of thing.

i have to agree, it is a pretty nice lookin piece BUT if you can do sumthin tastefull do a lil modifying. its about what you like right?

that seat is pretty killer how it is.
if it ain't broke...don't break it!

If ya got the skills to do a proper job, I say go for it cause in the end nobody is taking it to the grave with them when they die.

If we want to preserve something that matters how about we start at the rain forest... oops, just got deep on ya!!!

Thanx to everyone for the replies, much appreciated! Think I'll go with the single.... On the bike the tail hangs way over the rear gauard. It's actually 1500cm long.... A pic of it on the bike would probably have shown better where I'm coming from. Cut it down and some serious red metalflake I think! Hopefully have scored a 4 leader for it as well - sorta all out 70's show thing, maybe an ARD.

if you have the skill set id be more tempted to take a mold off it, modify mold and lay up a new one complete. then you have your vintage piece hanging on your wall just incase they become worth a million $$ some day, or you build a bike to fit it properly, and your cutdown version on your bike.

but whatever really - its yours so do as you want hack it and gaffa tape it back together if thats what floats your boat

I think Sumo's got the right idea, make a copy or two and go any way you want.

You may want to see if theres someone out there whos interested in buying it. Some guys will pay stupid money for vintage racer parts.

Looks like a piece I have seen on a kz1000 or 900? I would leave it. Everybody seems to want to "chop" everything they come across. Some things are best left alone, and Sumo's idea sounds sweet
